Our Story

A climate control journey... and yes, it’s all true.
Peter, co-founder of Supercool, started his career in air conditioning as an apprentice learning on the job, under expert supervision, just as our apprentices do today.
Working in the refrigeration and air conditioning industry brought him some ‘interesting’ experiences!
- Building refrigerated water tanks for Arctic crabs
- Climate-controlled environment creation for the safe storage of Medieval manuscripts
- Development of an air-conditioned environment to preserve the Crown Jewels in the Tower of London!

Founding Supercool in 2008 was a natural next step for Pete who together with co-founder Paul, wanted to provide the apprenticeship-style learning environment that prepared them so well for a career in the industry.
Supercool take great pride in passing on to a new generation of engineers and technicians, the innovation and passion that so many businesses need in their climate control solutions today.

Leadership
Having started his career with an apprenticeship in Cambridge for Frigidaire, then part of General Motors, Peter learnt the basics of refrigeration. Working in Cambridgeshire meant that day-to-day domestic clients were rare; instead, most of his work was for Cambridge University and various unusual or high-profile projects, including for British and foreign royalty, pharmaceutical companies, and several rock stars.

- Qualified for City & Guilds 2077 and 2078 (Safe Handling of Refrigerants) in 1996
- Among the first in the UK to gain City & Guilds 2079 (F-Gas Regulations Category 1) in April 2009
- Gained Diploma in Air-Conditioning Energy Assessment (DipACEA Level 3) in November 2010, issued by ABBE (#111114, dated 03/11/2010)
- Accredited with the Quidos Accreditation Scheme (No: QUID201629)

With years of hands-on experience in air conditioning and refrigeration, Jaimie oversees all aspects of service and maintenance for our clients. He ensures every system is running at peak efficiency, from routine servicing to emergency repairs.
Known for his technical expertise and attention to detail, Jaimie leads our team of engineers to deliver reliable, cost-effective solutions that keep businesses comfortable and compliant all year round.
Paul is responsible for overseeing our projects from initial planning through to completion. With a strong background in managing installations across commercial and residential sectors, Paul ensures projects run smoothly, on time and within budget.
Coordinating closely with clients, engineers and suppliers, he delivers tailored solutions that meet performance requirements while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.
Lorna keeps the business running smoothly behind the scenes, managing our accounts, administration, and day-to-day office operations. With a keen eye for detail and strong organisational skills, Lorna ensures everything from invoicing to client support is handled efficiently.
As the first point of contact for many of our customers, Lorna combines professionalism with a friendly approach, helping to keep projects and services on track.

Eco-friendly designs allow businesses to apply for enhanced capital allowances (ECAs) which provide tax relief and can cover their equipment costs.
REFCOM-Elite
Demonstrating adherence to industry codes and compliance, Supercool was an early adopter of these accreditations. We are committed to reducing the environmental impact of refrigerants.

We check output and emissions for all clients as part of our regular maintenance checks, to ensure regularly updated energy efficiency restrictions are met.

Repairs are handled quickly with 99% of calls being remedied on the first call out, thanks to our expert team and fully-equipped vehicles.
